St. Patrick's Day is all about the luck of the Irish, but everyone should feel lucky this year thanks to the Wisconsin State Fair and the introduction of two brand new cream puff flavors for the holiday weekend: Irish cream and mint chocolate.

While the cream puff has been a sweet State Fair staple since the 1920s, flavored versions of the fluffy treat are a recent innovation, debuting for the first time with a pumpkin spice version in 2020. Since then, State Fair's introduced a number of new takes on the beloved puff, including cocoa, strawberry, latteminty candy cane and now these two tantalizingly tasty twists.

The Irish cream and mint chocolate cream puffs will be available for drive-thru pick-up on March 15-17 in both three-pack and six-pack single-flavor options. (Mixing and matching flavors in a single pack will not be available, nor will classic cream puffs.) And just when you thought the St. Paddy's Day puffs couldn't get any sweeter, from now until March 10, pre-ordered packs will be available at a $3 discount, with three-packs costing just $14 and six-packs running for $25.

To snag your sweet treats, the State Fair drive-thru will be open Friday, March 15 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. (complete with performances from McNamara/McCarthy School of Irish Dance and bagpiper Peter Stanford), as well as Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
